Atlanta, Georgia

From the Civil War, through the Civil Rights movement, to its current unofficial title of "Capital of the New South," Atlanta has grown into one of the largest and most influential cities in the United States. The culinary traditions of Atlanta are greatly informed by its location in the heart of the American southeast, as well as its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and its status as a destination for people relocating from Louisiana. Locals and visitors to Atlanta will have their choice of great barbeque, soul food, seafood, Cajun food, and Creole cuisine. Perhaps Atlanta's most notable contribution to the world of food and beverage came in 1886 when Dr. John S. Pemberton invented what has become the world's most popular soft drink, Coca-Cola.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed on Jan. 2, 2009 by bex
Mine never set before I had to serve it, I left it in the oven for way more time than the recipe called for and it still came out runny. I let it set for 30 more minutes to no avail. It was runny but also delicious. I would make this pie well ahead of time. Once it set (and I ate it the next day), it was Incredible

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed on Jan. 2, 2009 by gnomette
This was easy and so freakin' delicious! It makes a lot of lemonade too. I used the "Real Lemon" Lemon Juice because I didn't have any lemons. But honestly I'll be making it again the same way. Maybe going as far as buying better, pulpier 100% pure lemon juice. It's just so easy! When I tasted it I found it a bit too sweet. I simply added more ice and it tasted perfect. I like a icy-cold lemonade so making it extra sweet is best anyhow so you don't have a bland water-down drink.

Classic Texas Caviar

Reviewed on Jan. 1, 2009 by Ga.Mom
Made this for New Year's Day and it was wonderful! We thought it was just right - I used two jalapenos but removed all seeds and most of the ribs... For our family - the heat was just right. A keeper - Thanks!
